When I first started as a full-time strongman I only weighed 148 pounds. This was something that baffled even the strongest of men because the possibility of my feats being real didn’t translate in their minds. They thought it must be a trick. But, as my reputation grew and people began to realize my strength was genuine, it became evident that I would be able to successfully introduce my art into the mainstream market.
I am a Professional Strongman in the Oldetime tradition, and that's something that I don't want to see die. And since there are only a handful of such strongmen left, I knew that the chain would be broken unless others are committed to carrying the mantle.
One of the most popular feats of this art is to drive a nail through a wooden plank with one blow of the fist. Siegmund Breibart did it, the Mighty Atom used it in his act, the Amazing Samson was a master, and I use it nearly every time I perform. That’s because it blows people’s minds. They cannot begin to conceive how a person can generate so much force that they can literally slap a nail through 2 ½ inches of wood with the palm of the hand.
Well guess what? A human being can not only generate enough force to drive a nail through a board or two, but a board combined with other objects as well. For example I can drive a nail through a frying griddle and a thick board about as fast as a person could slap his/her hands together.
